The acclaimed Munich Symphony Orchestra and world-class concert choir Gloriae Dei Cantores will fill Swasey chapel with Schoenberg’s beautiful “Verklarte Nacht” and Mozart’s exquisite “Requiem” in late October. Join us, and Denison’s own Chamber Singers, for this evening of voice and instrument under the baton of conductor Philippe Entremont.

The Munich Symphony Orchestra once again returns to the United States with Maestro Philippe Entremont after completing a 2009 tour to rave reviews. The Munich Symphony Orchestra – known for its “power and delicacy” and “reflection and energy” is one of Munich’s distinguished world class orchestras. The orchestra has displayed elegance and virtuosity while performing an extensive repertoire that includes symphonic concert pieces and operas to ballets and oratorios.

Recognized as a distinguished orchestral conductor and pianist, Philippe Entremont’s dedication to developing orchestras’ artistic potential has led him to numerous international tours and music directorships of several of the world’s greatest orchestras, as well as being one of the most recorded artists of all time.

Gloriae Dei Cantores, the internationally acclaimed 40-voice choir from Cape Cod, Mass., is known for its beautiful choral artistry in performing sacred choral music from Gregorian chant through the 21st century. Gloriae Dei Cantores and the Denison Chamber Singers join Mr. Entremont and the Munich Symphony Orchestra on the Swasey Chapel stage for this unforgettable performance of Mozart’s Requiem.
