Vail’s 32nd season ends with a chamber orchestra sure to take the audience on “an oxygen-fueled romp painted in vivid hues”(The New York Times). The Knights chamber orchestra brings energy and a joy of musical exploration to the Swasey stage as they perform classics and new music in a gutsy, exhilarating style. “We do it all, they say—Beethoven, pop, classical, rock. Pretty much anything anyone feels strongly about musically, the group will take seriously and give it a shot.”
ABOUT THE GUEST ARTISTS
An orchestra of friends, the members of this New York-based ensemble are graduates of the Juilliard, Curtis, Manhattan, Mannes and Eastman schools of music, united by an open-minded spirit of camaraderie and collaboration. This unique fellowship transforms our awareness of what an orchestra can be when each member helps to shape and refine the overall ensemble. Led by conductor Eric Jacobson, this energetic group has been participating in the world’s most prestigious music festivals and recently recorded two albums. Champions of music of our time, The Knights have served as the resident chamber orchestra for the Music At The Anthology (MATA) Festival for young composers since 2006.
